河南的地方学已有河洛学、洛阳学、中原学提出，但学界对其概念、内涵、地域范围等尚有不同见解。河洛学是以河洛文化研究为基础的学科，应以黄河与洛河交汇地区为地域范围，研究内容包括河洛地区的物质文化、精神文化与制度文化，特别是河图洛书学、二程洛学及华夏部族的形成发展、汉族南迁与客家和闽南民系的关系问题。洛阳学应研究洛阳城市的历史与现状，廓清古都洛阳在中国历史上的重要地位及其对亚欧大陆的影响，也要为洛阳的经济社会发展提供文化支撑与历史借鉴。中原学是以中原文化研究为基础的学科，其地域应以中原经济区为宜，包括河南省全境以及河北、山西、安徽、山东四省与河南邻近地区。中原学是对中原地区的历史、现状进行宏观的全方位研究，应突出中原文明研究，揭示它在中华文明“多元一体”格局中的核心地位，也要为实现中原现代化提供文化、理论支撑。

In Henan province, the local studies that have been proposed include “Heluo Studies”,“Luoyang Studies”,and “Central Plain Studies”,yet the academic circles still hold different views on their concepts, connotations, and geographical scopes.Heluo studies is a discipline based on the study of Heluo culture, with its geographical cope centered around the confluence of the Yellow River and the Luo River.Its research content includes the material culture, spiritual culture, and institutional culture in the Heluo region, particularly focusing on the study of the Hetu and Luoshu(River Chart and Luo Writing),the Luo school of thought by the Cheng brothers, the formation and development of the Huaxia tribes, and the relationship between the southern migration of Han ethnic group and the Hakka &Minnan(Southern Fujian) ethnic groups.Luoyang studies should examine the history and current conditions of Luoyang city, clarifying the ancient capital's significant role in Chinese history and its influence across the Eurasia, as well as offering cultural support and historical insights for Luoyang's economic and social development.Central plain studies is a discipline based on the study of central plain culture, and its geographical scope should align with the central plain economic zone, encompassing the entire territory of Henan province as well as the adjacent areas in the four provinces of Hebei, Shanxi, Anhui, and Shandong.Central plain studies involves a macro-level and comprehensive investigation into the history and current state of the central plain region, emphasizing the study of central plain civilization to reveal its core position in the "unity in diversity" framework of Chinese civilization, while also providing the cultural and theoretical support for the modernization of the central plain.
